Incon recently commissioned the forth of its newest H-22 perlite furnace. The design was developed over the last several years with each of the design elements independently tested and developed on furnaces at different locations. The first unit to embody all the new design elements was supplied in April 1996. With that unit now proven, Incon in the last few months has begun to offer the units to others. Production rates of over 400 cubic feet per hour [11.3 M3/hr] of coarse horticultural material are common with energy consumption, product density, and furnace droppings better than comparable furnaces.
